- CAUGHT IN BELT AND WAS KILLED
Percy Wolfe, 27 Rudy St., Victim Of Fatal Tragedy At Bauer's Ltd. While At Work Today
Percy Wolfe, 27 Rudy Street, was so badly hurt this morning about at 11.50 at Bauer’s shoddy mill on King Street, when he was drawn into a picker by means of the belt, that he died a little over half an hour later. Apparently no one saw the accident and the cries of the injured man attracted the attention of fellow workers. He was extricated quickly and medical assistance summoned immedlately but in spite of the efforts of Drs. McNally. Zwick and McGarvill, Wolfe pasted away about 12.30. Officials at the factory are at a loss to account for the accident, not knowing whether Wolfe's clothes got caught in the belting or whether he slipped and fell into the belting or in what manner the tragedy occurred. He was badly mangled about the head and sides and it is thought that death was due to a rib puncturing his lung. The late Mr. Wolfe, who was about 30 years of age, is survived by his wife and three children. Coroner Dr. Wellman has ordered an inquest and the jury will be selected late this afternoon and will than view the body at Bauer's after which it is likely that an adjourment will be taken until after the funeral.
