    • William John Dally

      PRESTON - William John Dally, 79, an employee of the Grand River Railway car barns here for 29 years, died at Westminster Hospital, London, Ont., last night. He had been ill 41/2 years. He was born in England Nov. 22, 1875 and came to Preston in 1910, working for the railway until he retired 15 years ago. He attended the Anglican Church and was a member of Preston branch, Canadian Legion. Mr. Daily served three years with the 118th Battalion during the First World War. Survivors include his wife, the former Ann Driver, whom he married at St. Phillips Church, Kennington, England, Feb. 17, 1901; four sons, William John, Windsor; Henry, Montreal; Frederick C., Kitchener; Edward T., Preston, and a daughter, Mrs. A. (Milda May) Hobbs, Hamilton. A brother and sister in England also survive and there are six grandchildren. The body will be at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home here until Saturday, when Canon R. T. Appleyard will conduct a funeral service at St. John's Anglican Church at 2: 30 p.m. Burial will be at Parklawn Cemetery.
