- Valentin Eckstein
After a lengthy illness, Valentin Eckstein, 89 of 19 Strange St, died Thursday at K-W Hospital. Born April 14th, 1872 in Bamberg. Mr. Eckstein was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Eckstein. He moved to Kitchener 60 years ago. He was a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church. Mr. Eckstein was predeceased by his wife the former Catherine E. Gaiser, whom he married in Hanover in 1899. She predeceased him Sept 24th. 1954. Surviving are two sons, Reuben of Kitchener, Irvin of Niagara Falls, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of the Henry Eckstein family. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 3: 30 p.m. Burial will be in St Peter's Cemetery.
