Formerly of 639 King St., Cambridge, Thursday, May 9, 1985, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 98th year. Beloved husband of Ella McKeown; dear father of Russell of Cambridge, Leo of Manitoba, Kenneth of Kitchener, Marie (Mrs. Stewart Morrison) of London, Ont., Adeleen (Mrs. Ron Starr) of Kitchener, Rita (Mrs. Paul Brenner) and Alice (Mrs. Peter Lombard), both of Nova Scotia. Also survived by one brother, Ambrose of Hanover and a sister, Mrs. Margaret McKeown of Elora. Predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Garvey was born in Normanby township, Grey County, a resident of Cambridge for 22 years, from Mount Forest; a retired farmer. Friends will be received at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Saturday, 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Clement's Church, Cambridge, Monday at 11 a.m. Interment Parklawn cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home, Sunday evening at 8: 45 p.m.
