  NEWLAND, John C. Of 1941 Coronation Blvd., Cambridge, on Wednesday, May 6, 1987, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, John Newland, beloved husband of Jean Shaw, in his 84th year. Dear father of Joan (Mrs K.A. Bald) of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Grimm and Mrs. Flo Carrie, both of Cambridge. Predeceased by one daughter, Grace Lotocki of Alberta and two brothers and four sisters. Mr. Newland was born in England and lived in Cambridge most of his life. He was a retired employee of Savage Shoe Limited; a member of Knox Preston Presbyterian Church; past president of the Preston Horticultural Society and past noble grand of the IOOF, Cambridge Lodge, No. 188. The family will receive friends at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday, May 8, 1987, at 1: 30 p.m. Interment Parklawn cemetery.
