  Mrs. A. R. Kaufman A Kitchener woman well known for her volunteer contributions to many civic and community organizations, died today at the Winston Hall Nursing Home at RR 2, Waterloo, after a brief illness. She was 84. The wife of a proiminent Kitchener industrialist, she achieved prominence through her philanthropic work with such organizations as the YWCA and the Victorian Order of Nurses. Mr. and Mrs. Kaufman lived at 44 Rusholme Rd. and kept a summer home on Lexington Road, part of which became a public recreational area known as Kaufman Flats. The former Jean Helen Hutton, Mrs. Kaufman was born in Port Elgin, a daughter of the Late Mr. and Mrs. John Hutton. She moved to Kitchener shortly before her marriage in 1911. In addition to the YWCA, she was a member of Zion United Church and a director on the board of the Victorian Order of Nurses. Surviving besides her husband are one son, William H. of Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. B. D. (Helen) Sandwell of Caledon and Mrs. N. A. (Jean) Koetsier of Waterloo; one sister Mrs. Oliver (Sarah, Master of Ottawa; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters and one brother. The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, after 3 p.m., Friday, until noon Saturday. Removal will be made to the Zion United Church where Rev. F. J. Roberts and Rev. C. F.
