  Gordon McLeod PRESTON - A former Preston resident, Gordon Sylvester McLeod, 46, of Norfolk avenue, Galt, died in South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Galt, yesterday. He had been in hospital six days and ill since last May. Born in Guelph, he moved to Preston as a youth and went to Galt in 1940. He was employed as a pipe fitter by Dominion Rubber Company, Ltd., Kitchener. He was a petty officer in the navy and during the Second World War was stationed in Newfoundland. He was a member of the Preston branch, Canadian Legion, and the Preston Loyal Orange Lodge. He is survived by his wife, the former Bernice Stumpf; five sons, Gerald, Robert, Bruce, Jack and Ronald, all at home; two daughters, Linda at home and Mrs. Kenneth (Audrey) Steeves of Ayr; two brothers, Ronald of Gardena, Calif. and Jack of Kitchener; three sisters, Mrs. Frank Hartley, Mrs. Arnold Mock and Mrs. Joseph Henry, all of Galt. There is one grandchild. The body is at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted Saturday, at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. A. H. Vair of Knox Presbyterian Church, Preston, will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery. Kitchener-Waterloo Record 9 Jan 1958 pg 7
