    • Harold E. Gunther

      HESPELER - Funeral was held today for Harold E. Gunther, 53, a retired Preston-Hespeler jeweller, who died Saturday night at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt, where he had been for several weeks. Mr Gunther lived at 116 Hungerford Rd., Hespeler, for 30 years. He was born, at Fenelon Falls. Before living in Hespeler, he had resided at Dundas. Mr. Gunther took over his father's jewelry business, following his father's death in 1946 and operated the store in Hespeler for 10 years. He then moved his business to 618 King St., Preston and operated this store until 1965, when he then retired because of ill health. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Preston and was a veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Surviving are his wife, the former Susan (Sue) Simpson and one son John Frederick, of Hespeler. Rev. Ian Fleming, pastor of St. Paul's United Church, Preston, officiated at the 2 p.m. funeral service conducted at Barthel-Stager Funeral Home. Interment was in Preston Park Lawn, Cemetery.
