PRESTON—Preston resident for 17 years, William James Jones died suddenly at his home, 1239 King St., early Friday after an illness of three years. He was 61. Born in Newport Mons, South Wales, England. Mr. Jones came to Canada 57 years ago. He lived in Elora before moving to Preston. By occupation he was a truck driver with the Canadian Office and School Furniture, retiring from that position in 1950. He was a veteran of the Second World War and was also a member of the Preston Legion and Canadian Corps of Frontiersmen. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church. In September, 1918, he was married at Newport Mons, South Wales, England, to Gladys Tutton, who survives with two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Hazel) Vo11 of Kitchener and Mrs. P. (Gladys) Dowdy of Galt, nine grandchildren and a brother and sister in England. The body is at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, where the funeral will be held Monday at 4 o'clock. Interment will be in Park Lawn cemetery. Rev. R. T. Appleyard of St. John's Anglican Church will officiate.
