    • DEATH OF MRS. KRAUS

Mrs. Ferd. A. Kraus, passed away at her home here last Thursday evening. The news of her death came as a great shock to her many friends. She had been ill only a few weeks and her demise is deeply regretted by all. She was a woman of kindly manners and pleasant disposition and gained many friends. She was a devout adherent of the Lutheran faith and at the time of her death was a member of the Ladies Aid of Trinity Lutheran Church. The late Mrs. Kraus was born in Preston, her maiden name being Mary Annie Roth, and she reached the age of 60 years, 8 months and 14 days, She was married to her now bereaved husband about thirty years ago and for many years they conducted hotel businesses in Baden, Woodstock, Listowel, Palmerston and New Hamburg and she was well and favorably known in all these places. They came here about 8 years ago and conducted the Queens Hotel until about a year ago when they sold out and lived retired. The funeral wars held on Sunday afternoon, from her late residence to Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Mr. Brenner, of Baden, conducted the funeral. Her bereaved husband has the sympathy of his many friends in his sad loss.
