- Gilbert Shanahan
PRESTON, Gilbert Shanahan, 1723 Concession Rd., died Monday, at South Waterloo Hospital. He was 48. Mr. Shanahan was born in Saskatchewan. He had resided in Preston, for 27 years. He was a tool designer at the Daisy Heddon Ltd., for the last four years and prior to that he was employed at Kralinator Filters Ltd. He was a member of St. Clement's RC Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of Preston legion branch. Surviving are his wife, the former Idella (Cindy) Roth; one son, Robert of Preston: two daughters, Mrs. James (Helen) Crane of Preston and Kerry at home; two brothers, Harold of Kenilworth and John of Kitchener. The body is at Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, until Thursday, when removal will be made to St. Clement's RC Church for mass, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Preston Park Lawn cemetery.
