    • John Joseph Kerr

      PRESTON, John Joseph Kerr, 716 Duke St., died Saturday, at South Waterloo Hospital, Galt. He was 80. Mr. Kerr was born in Paris, Ont. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Kerr. He had lived in Preston, for 49 years and was employed for many years at the Schmidt Furniture Co. He later worked at the Hespeler Furniture Co., for eight years from where he retired two years ago. He was a member of St Clement's RC Church. a life member of the Knights of Columbus and also a member of the Preson branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. He served overseas in the First World War with the 173 Battalion of Hamilton and was a member of the Highland Light Infantry band, for a number of years and also a member of the Preston legion band. Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Ross, two sons, Jack of Wallaceburg and George of Kitchener: one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Clarkson of Preston and eight grandchildren. The body is at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home. Requiem mass will he solemnized at St. Clement's RC Church, Tuesday, at 11 a.m. Interment will he in Preston Park Lawn cemetery.
