- HAVLIK, Jaroslav Jan (Jerry)
Of Cambridge, passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday, May 10, 1993, in his 90th year. Jerry is survived by his wife, Gwen Davidson-Havlik. Born in Prague, Czechoslovakia and a resident of Cambridge since 1951. Well known to the Cambridge area as developing several highly technical businesses. He was also known for his strong voice to the government since 1951, for a skills training program for our young people. A senior active member of the Galt Rotary Club having perfect attendance, also receiving the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, Rotary International's highest award. The president of 20 years for the Canadian Manufacturing Engineers. A member of the Canadian-Czechoslovakian Legion and an honorary degree and rank of Captain, the Sea Eagle. Jerry, the author of his book The Other Side of Freedom - Which Way Canada. A copy of this book can be picked up at the offices of Havlik Enterprises. At the request of the family, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
