Wife of the late Thomas P. O'Brien (1988), passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2014, surrounded by her loving family, in her 99th year. Loving Mother of Jim O'Brien and his wife Loretta, Bill O'Brien and his wife Marguerite of St. John's, NL, Margaret Kavanagh and the late Joseph Kavanagh (2007), Tom O'Brien and his wife Patsy, Kevin O'Brien and his wife Linda, Richard O'Brien and his wife Carol, Patrick O'Brien and his wife Judy, Jean and Jim Costello and John O'Brien and his wife Bev, all of Cambridge, ON, Michael O'Brien and his wife Cindy of Kitchener, ON, and Marie Durnford and her husband Ben of Paris, ON. Margaret is predeceased by her five daughters Ellen O'Brien, Rita O'Brien, Mary O'Brien, Catherine O'Brien and Patricia Stone (Don Stone). Cherished Grandmother of 40 grandchildren, 60 great-grand-children and two great-great-grand-children. She will fondly be remembered by her brother and sister Frank Kavanagh of Holyrod, NL; and Helen Skanes of Bell Island, NL. She was a special Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Margaret was born on Bell Island, NL, in March 1916 and moved to Cambridge, Ontario, with her family in 1966. Margaret is a member of St. Clement's Parish. The family will receive relatives and friends at the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Monday, July 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers at 7 p.m. Celebration of New Life will be held at St. Clement's Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. A sincere thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of Cambridge Memorial Hospital, The Red Cross Care Partners and especially Dr. Linda Hondubrata for all of the kind and compassionate care they gave to Margaret.
