      It is with deep regret that the family of Don Morrison announces his passing, on Sunday, Jan. 22, 1995. He was 53. Don battled cancer with great courage and dignity. Don was raised in Peterborough and graduated from Queen's University and the University of Alberta before teaching high school in North York. He came to Waterloo County in 1970, where he taught at Cameron Heights collegiate. In the fall of 1971, Don was appointed the first Outdoor Education teacher for the Waterloo County Board, at the newly opened Blair Outdoor Education Centre. He left Outdoor Education in 1981 to join the curriculum department at the Education Centre after which he was appointed principal of Heidelberg, Alison Park and most recently, Breslau public schools. Don was keenly interested in children and their education and in conserving the environment for them. Don was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, The Friends of Bark Lake and a former member of the Council of Outdoor Educators of Ontario and the YMCA Camp Committee. Don was the loving husband of Marny (Schultz) and the inspirational father of David, Stephen and Craig, He leaves his parents, Hugh and Lillian Morrison of Peterborough; his sisters, Carol (Mrs. Bill MacKillican) of Aurora and Linda (Mrs. Bruce Stimers) of Peterborough; three nieces and a nephews. As a memorial to Don, his family asks that you consider donating to “Trees for Schools,” c/o Dr. Frank Glew, 51 Ardelt Ave., Kitchener, Ont., N2G 3X5. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd. S., Waterloo on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 10: 30 a.m. Interment of ashes, Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
