Of Fairview Mennonite Home, Cambridge, on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at his residence, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Anne Oprel (May 2000). Dear father of Paul and his wife Gail of Cambridge; lovingly remembered by two grandchildren, Greg and his wife Arlene and Tim and his wife Cindy and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Taylor. Sadly missed by two sisters, Marjorie Kelley of Paris, Ont. and Vera Alderman of Kitchener. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Edith Spencer; one son, Robert; six brothers and one sister. Mr. Spencer was born in England and was a longtime resident of Cambridge. He was employed as a Stationary Engineer of Dobbie Industries before his retirement and was a member of King Street Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at King Street Baptist Church, 361 King St. E., Cambridge, on Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Victor Lujetic officiating. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.
