  SINGLETON, Desmond In Lantana Cascades, Fla., on Sunday, Feb 3, 1991, of 14 Spruce St., Cambridge, in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Marjorie Shantz; very loved father of Christopher and his wife Karen, Leslie Ann and her husband Ross, Robin and his wife Karen; beloved grandfather of Trystan, Michael, William and John. Also survived by two sisters. Mr. Singleton was born in Kettering, England and came to Canada in 1951. Retired general manager of Date Industries Ltd., of Ayr. In the past, Des was involved in the Canadian Foundry Industries, the American Foundry Mena Society, the Preston Hespeler Kiwanis Club (past president) and St. Paul's United Church, in retirement Des was very active in recreational and competitive sailing in the Bronte Yacht Club. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 1991, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday, Feb. 7, 1991, at 1: 30 p.m., with interment in Parklawn cemetery.
