  ESCOBAR, Filomena (nee Gomes) Filomena passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Francisco (2007). Beloved mother of Jose (Alcina), Manuel (Maria), Eduino (Val), Frank (Gail), Lina Szakaly (George) of Cambridge and Maria Silveira (Daniel) of California. Cherished grandmother of Lina (Bernie), Sandy (Doug), Tina (Raul), Jeannie (Kirby), Frankie (Lynn), David (Judite), Jen (Erik), Steven (Jackie), Jason (Justyna), Danny, Erik, Tyler and Victoria. Treasured great-grandmother of Julia, Sarah, Zachary, Phoebe, Kallista, Sofia, Grace, Ethan, Aidan, Nathan, Sergio, Mia, Mya and Mateo. Remembered fondly by her sister Ana Medeiros, brother Frank Pereira (Maria), sister- in-law Filomena Pereira, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her infant son Henrique, parents Antonio and Maria Pereira, sister Maria Caetano (Manuel), brother Manuel Pereira and brother-in-law Manuel Medeiros. The family wishes to give their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the staff of Stirling Heights for their care, love and support throughout the difficult times. We would also like to thank Father Cunha and Reverend Frank, for their prayers and spiritual guidance. Filomena's family will receive relatives and friends at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street North, Cambridge, on Friday, April 19, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 185 Elgin Street South, Cambridge on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
