- McCASH, John (Jack) Charles
Of Cambridge, was with his family when he died at his home, after a long battle with cancer, on Saturday, June 3, 2000. Jack was in his 79th year. Loving husband and best friend of Doris (nee Booty) and cherished father of Margaret (DaSilva). Ann and her husband Barrie Keown of Chehnsford. John and his wife Suzanne, David and his wife Lauren of Mississauga, Karen and her husband Keith Bell and sister-in-law, Dolores (Mrs. Robert McCash). His grandchildren, Lori, Michael, Kelly and Kenny in British Columbia, Lisa, Catherine, Mark, Scott.,Andrew, Brian and Andrea in Ontario and his great-grandchildren, will sadly miss him. Predeceased by his first wife (Norma Freid): son, Robert: parents, John and Margaret (Wilson): brother, Robert of Kitchener and sister, Agnes. Before his retirement, Jack was a shoe designer for Scruggins Shoe Co., Savage Shoe Co., Wooley Shoe Co. and Andrew McNiece Ltd. Jack owned and operated Braemar Lodge in the District of Parry Sound. During the Second World War, he served overseas as a pilot with the RCAF in No. 133 Squadron and later served as Adjutant of No. 296 Squadron, of the Galt Air Cadets for 10 years. Jack was a legion inember of the Galt Branch and a former member of the Chicopee Ski Club and Galt Curling Club. Friends will be received at the Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday). A service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion, Galt Branch 121, will be held at 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
