- WOODS, Arthur Jackson
Died peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, in his 62nd year. Loving husband of Nelda (Lahn), dear father of Carol and her husband Jack Zettel of Waterloo and Debra and her husband James Jacques of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, John, Kaely and Benjamin Zettel and Jacquelyne Jacques. Also sadly missed by his sisters, Joan Muir of Park Hill and Elizabeth (Mrs. Mery Patterson) of Guelph. Predeceased by his parents, William J. and Stella Woods and one brother, Harry. Mr. Woods was a policeman and was employed from 1953-1966, with the Kitchener City Police, as a Sergeant. In 1986, he came to Cambridge (Preston) to become the Chief of Police. At amalgamation in 1972, he become a Staff Inspector with the Waterloo Regional Police and retired in 1984. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Cambridge and a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Royal Canadian Navy. The family will receive friends at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Tuesday, 7-9, Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Cambridge, Thursday, June 16, 1988, at 2 p.m. Interment Parklawn cemetery, Cambridge.
