Notes |
- Doris Cobb (Nee Dwyer)
On January 11, 2022 we said goodbye to our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. At Cambridge Memorial Hospital; surrounded by family.
Born in Bell Island, NL. February 28, 1927, John and Johanna (Kelly) Dwyer. She was the youngest of a large family and is the last of her generation.
Doris and her late husband Jack (1995) moved to Ontario in 1964, where they worked diligently to provide a good life for their large family. As well as being predeceased by her husband Jack, she buried 2 sons: James (2019) and Michael (1994) (daughter in law Cindy, 2021) as well as two grandsons Jacob (2020) and Joseph (2021) and great granddaughter, Leanne Jones (Cherri) 2021.
She is survived by her sons, John, George (Patricia), Melvin (Susan), Ken (Linda), William (Christine) and Robert. Also surviving are her daughters; Lillian Meyer (late Frank), Doris, Elizabeth Beke, Athelie Markle (Larry) Ruth (Vicki); all of Cambridge.
Her legacy includes 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Doris was well loved and will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. At a later date we will announce a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Society of Waterloo-Wellington or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We honour Mom with the following bible verses:
"She looks well to the needs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness." (Proverbs 31:27)
"My flesh and my heart may fail, but my God is the strength of my heart and my portion, forever." (Pslam 73:26)
