Passed away, peacefully, on Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999, at his residence, in Cambridge. Loving father of Chris Veit-Kerr and husband Lain Kerr of Glasgow, Scotland, Joe and his wife Tracy of Mississauga and Mike and his wife Connie of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by four grandchildren, Joshua, Bryan, Bradley and Haley: one sister, Elsie Govier of Paris and Ruth Veit of Toronto. Predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Emma Veit; a son, Timothy (1953); a brother, Roger and a sister, Margaret Forgrave. Walter was born on April 12. 1931 in Simcoe and had been a resident of Cambridge, since 1968. He was a retired electrician from the IBEW Local 804 and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch 126. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge on Sunday. Feb. 7, 1999, from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Monday, Feb. 8. 1999, at 1: 30 p.m. Interment at Park Lawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
