  BETTENCOURT, João Estevão Born in Beira, Sao Jorge, Açores on August 3, 1943, passed away suddenly at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday May 10, 2011, at the age of 67. Loving husband of Maria Judite for 48 years. Loving father to Christine (Jorge M. DaSilva) and devoted grandfather to Sarah. Only son of the late Jose Francisco (1955) and Francisca Bettencourt (1988). Brother in law to Lenor (Cosmo Maciel), Elias Oliveira (Ana), Deodete (late Jose Silveira), Leocadia (Miguel Soares), Georgina (late Manuel Silveira), Fatima (Helio Oliveira), Dora (Tony Amaral), Jose Oliveira (Eva), Jorge Oliveira (Evelina), Filipe Oliveira (Gorette) and the late Angelo Oliveira. Son-in-law to Mariana Oliveira and the late Antonio Oliveira. João will be deeply missed by his godchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be remembered by his friends as a story teller, fun-loving, gardener, wine maker, Benefica fan and a very devoted grandfather. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Friday, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Elgin St., S., Cambridge, on Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. Cambridge Times 13 May 2011
