BORBA, Durval Machado

Born October 31, 1940 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, passed away peacefully at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Monday, July 29, 2013, at the age of 72. Loving and devoted husband of Maria Vivelinda Borba. Cherished father of Elisabete Normore and her husband Paul, Thelma McKnight and her husband Mark and Robert Borba and his wife Lisa. Special grandfather of Jacob and Megan Normore, Lauren and Nicole McKnight and Lukas and Ethan Borba. Durval will also be sadly missed by his siblings, David Borba (Julia), Maria Lima, Delio Borba (Vielmina), Ruth Vieira (Manuel) and Firminia Sales, as well as his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Firminio and Ruth Borba. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, August 1, 2013, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Elgin St. S., Cambridge, on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Grand River Hospital in particular the staff of the P. D. Clinic for their care and compassion.
