  TAVARES, Jose de Chaves Passed away peacefully, at his residence in Cambridge, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the age of 81. Loving and devoted husband of Elisa de Bairos Tavares. Cherished father of Maria, Joe, Natalia (Joe), Ernesto (Alice), Alfredo (Esmeralda), Arsenio (Lisa) and Noemia (Joe). Proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Special brother of Helena Sousa, Deolinda Chaves, Antonio Tavares, Adelina Puim and Jose Maria Tavares. Jose will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents Benardino Tavares and Maria Cabral and his siblings; Maria Bairos, Filomena Andrade and Manuel Tavares. Dad's favourite pastime was time spent with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his gardening. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2015, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Elgin St. S., Cambridge, on Friday July 31, 2015, at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
