  • Notes 
    • Frederick Snyder, a silversmith, dealt in stoves and tinware. His first stoves were procured in Albany, N.Y. He made good tinware and sent peddlers out to exchange wares for furs, rags and sheepskins. It was said of him in 1909: "He has kept on turning tin into silver up to now." Mr. Snyder built a block at 51 West King Street in 1859. He served on the School Board and Town Council. He was also an original director of the Economical Fire Insurance Company, of which his son, Fred W. Snyder, is Managing Director.
