  SANTO, Maria Espirito Peacefully, in her sleep on Friday, September 5, 2014, Maria Espirito Santo, passed at the age of 89. A fiercely devoted mother to her only child, Maria immigrated to Canada, in 1970 from, Sao Miguel, Azores. She is survived by her loving son, Jason Resendes, devoted daughter-in-law, Ludovina Resendes and her two granddaughters, Nannette (Floriano) Meneses and Tammy (Mark) Frayne. She will be cherished by her great-grandchildren; Connor, Brooke, Owen and Caden. She will also be missed by her surviving siblings; Manuel (Graca) Resendes, Jose (Francelina) Resendes and Conceicao Bagueiro and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass and reception was held at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 9th. Cambridge Times 9 Sep 2014
