      "Died of wounds."He was in the Lewis Gun Section, and whilst in the act of rushing forward during an attack on August 8th, 1918, was shot in the chest by a rifle bullet. His wound was dressed and he was evacuated to Field Ambulance, thence to No. 5 Casualty Clearing Station where he succumbed three days later.
