Suddenly on Thursday, April 24, 2008, Rafael Soares of Clyde Road, Cambridge at the age of 73. Beloved father of Ann Sousa and husband George of Cambridge and beloved grandfather of Aaron and Justin. Dear brother of Germana (Dinis); Francisco (Lucilia); Jose (Gilda) and Rosa Damaso (Gilberto). He was predeceased by his wife, Maria da Conceicao (1969) and by his brother, Gregorio Soares (2007). Rafael was a long time employee with Angelstone and in later years, worked at Tim Hortons. Rafael was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church often volunteering his services at the church. He enjoyed playing his trumpet with Lira de Fatima. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews and many friends. Resting at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Monday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at 10 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery. Rosary to be recited at the funeral home on Monday evening, at 8 p.m.
