  STURDY, Peter Robert 1928 - 2012. Loving husband, father, grandfather and good friend, who will be sadly missed. Died Friday, July 27, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by parents, Gerald and Lida B. Sturdy (Pearson), sister Marnie Elliott. Survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Sally (McKee), daughters; Cathy (Peter Smith) Cambridge, ON, Heather (Tracy Crape) Calgary, AB, Sue (Kevin Matthews), Bundeena, NSW, Australia, Sandy, Sherwood Park, AB and son Hugh (Toronto), grandchildren Matthew and Holly Smith, Emma Crape, Kaila and Josh Matthews, Brett and Caiti Farquharson as well as nephews and nieces. Practiced law with his mother, Lida B. Pearson (Pearson, Flynn) in Preston (Cambridge) and served the community as a lawyer for close to 40 years. Avid sailor and gardener. Actively involved in the community, including Past President of both Rotary and Probus Clubs. The family would like to express their thanks for the support received in allowing Peter to remain at home including the Cambridge CCAC, the palliative nurses (especially Abby as well as OT Karen) and the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Oncology Team.
