Passed away quietly, surrounded by his family, on Monday, January 10, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Marilyn Sykes for over 40 years. Proud father to David Sykes (Judi) of Bamberg, Tim Sykes (Jill) of Cambridge and the late Thomas Mossey (1969). Sam will be remembered by his grandchildren, Sean, Dana and Casey and by his brother, Jack Sykes. Sam was employed by the City of Guelph, the City of Waterloo and the Walter Fedy Partnership until his retirement. "Sam wishes to say "goodbye" to all who knew him as a friend" The Sykes family will receive friends at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St. South, Kitchener, for a Memorial Visitation on Friday, January 14, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. Sam's family expresses their gratitude to the staff of St. Mary's Hospital, Acute Care Unit, for the exceptional care Sam received.
