Passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the age of 75. Loving husband of the late Maria L. Rebelo, who passed away on May 22, 2008. Beloved father of Alvaro Rebelo, Tony Rebelo and his wife Lori, Maria Rebelo Freitas, John Rebelo and his wife Michelle, Fatima Rebelo and her husband Rolando Moniz and Joe Rebelo and his wife Zabrina. Special Grandfather of Carolyn, Steven (Deena) and their children, Evan, James and Mason; Christina; John Jr. (Lori) and their children, Calvin, Victoria, Julia and Nicole; Sarah (Aaron) and their children, Jacob and Jordan; Brad, Olivia; Ronnie and Cassandra; Nelson, Melissa and Phillip. Step-grandfather of Kim Lammert and Ken Lammert. Step-great-grandfather of Brandon, Arthur, Cody, Jordan, and Kain. Brother of Antonio Rebelo of Cambridge, Luis Rebelo of Kitchener and Odete Pereira of Fall River, Mass. Predeceased by his brother, Joao Rebelo Jr. and sister, Maria Moniz of Fall River, Mass, USA and Jose Rebelo of S. Miguel. Ernesto will be forever remembered by his extended family, Linda MaClay and all their nieces and nephews. Ernesto was retired after many years of service with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, serving as custodian at Monsignor Doyle High School. Ernesto was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Fatima. Ernesto will be sadly missed by his very close friends, Father A. Cunha and Libral Batista. Ernesto and his late wife Maria were former owners of Tony's Hall Catering on Shade Street, Cambridge. Resting at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge where the family will receive friends on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday evening, at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima R. C. Church, Elgin Street South, Cambridge, on Friday, July 4, 2008, at 11: 30 a.m. Father A. Cunha celebrant. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
