1923-2010. It is with profound sadness that the family of John Rosa, announces his passing in his 86th year. After his 9 month battle with pancreatic cancer, John succumbed to his illness, March 8, 2010, at Cambridge Memorial, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 59 years to Eduina G. Silveira, loving father of Lizette and her husband Artur Medeiros. Devoted and proud grandfather of Sonia and her husband Bruno Bordadagua (and their baby on the way) and Jason Medeiros. He will be sadly missed by his brothers; Manuel of Cambridge, Antonio of California, Eduino of Madeira and his sister; Maria of Terceira, Acores. Predeceased by his father; Jose, mother; Filomena, brothers; Jose and Francisco and his nephew; Jose E. Rosa. John immigrated to Canada in 1964, leaving behind his family to explore better possibilities for them. In 1973 he moved his family to Cambridge and established his life working at Franklin Manufacturing until his retirement. His passion was his vegetable garden where he spent countless hours. He lived a great life and fought a good fight, until God was ready to receive him in his heavenly garden, where there is no more pain or suffering. He will be deeply missed by his family and all of his friends. The family received friends at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rosary was recited in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday evening, at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial, was celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Elgin St. S., Cambridge on Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Parklawn Cemetery.
