Suddenly, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, in his 75th year. Beloved husband for 52 years to Mary Katherine (Petro). Proud and loving father of Stephen James and his wife Donna, Robert Joseph and his wife Mary Beth, Judith and her husband David Foulds, Laurel and her husband Barry Sheehan. Cherished grandfather of Carolyn, Robbie, Stew and Jillian. Mr. Karlik attended St. Joseph's High School and Assumption College in Windsor and graduated from University of Detroit (Architectural Engineering, 1950). His career path was Sheppard and Masson Architects, Smith Hinchman and Grylls Architects and Engineers, Karlik Construction and Public Works Canada (Project Officer, Air Transportation, Architectural and Engineering Services). He retired in 1994 to Cambridge, where he leaves many friends at the Cambridge Goland Country Club. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge on Thursday, from 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Clements RC Church, 745 Duke St., Cambridge on Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at 10 a:m. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery, Cambridge. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday, at 7 p.m.
