  NICOLAU, Carlos Duarte With family by his side, Carlos passed away peacefully, on February 3, 2016, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Maria Clotilde Nicolau. Dear father of Elizabeth Reis (Eusebio), Margaret Ferreira (Luis) and Nelly Figueiredo (Tony). Loving grandfather of Erik, Nicole, Jesse, Melissa, Amy and Christopher. Predeceased by his father, Manuel Nicolau (Maria De Luz), brother, José Lucio (Louisa) and sister, Maria Do Carmo Duarte (José). Carlos will also be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Carlos was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, before he immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia in 1967. Carlos will always be remembered for his love of music, his Benfica soccer team, playing the accordion and keyboard. He loved to learn new things, most recently how to Skype with his family and he loved to travel leaving with us great memories. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street N., Cambridge on Friday, February 5, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Friday evening, at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, 185 Elgin Street S., Cambridge, on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 9 a.m. Interment Parklawn Cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the ICU staff at Cambridge Memorial, especially Nurses, Wendy, Pat, Nevena and Laura as well as Dr. Chung and Dr. Mike for their wonderful care.
