  Da ROSA, Mariano Furtado Passed away peacefully, after a brave battle with cancer, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, at the age of 76. Survived by his cherished wife of 52 years, Maria Inez Da Rosa; his daughters Gilberta (David) and Lubelia (Doug). Beloved Papa of Wade, Thomas, Matthew and Nickolas. He will be missed by the many nieces, nephews and friends he leaves behind. Originally from Sao Miguel, Açores and immigrated to Galt, Ontario, in March of 1966. Mariano enjoyed many happy years with his friends and family at his trailer in Bayfield. He always had a ready smile and helping hand for everyone he knew. He held many careers; a mail carrier in the Açores, worked at Franklin Manufacturing and also as a construction labourer, before retiring from Shaver Poultry. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2013, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 53 Wellington St., Cambridge, on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
