      Dr. Erwin Anton Fernbach, not only retired Professor of math and physics at Ryerson University and the University of Toronto, but also a true gentleman and devoted husband and best friend to wife Sally Fernbach, passed on March 2, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his wife at his side. Born in Geras, Austria, to Dr. Ludwig Fernbach of Matzen, Austria and Paula Aynedter of Bruck an der Leitha, Austria. Inventor of the transistorized ignition system and champion arches: Preceded by his siblings, Johannes Fehring, Carl W. Fernbach and Mimi Aronson. Sadly missed by his mother-in-law, Sheila McGuire, Toronto and sister-in-law, Maxi Fernbach, Vienna, sister-in-law Professor, Dany Sigel, Vienna, nephew, Thomas Fernbach, Pfaffstatten, niece, Gabriele Fernbach, Vienna and their families and dear friends, Andrew Gall and Steve Ryder of Kitchener, Cathy Soper of Toronto, Manny and Vi Logan, Cambridge and Ron Moore, Ballinifad and his faithful canine companions, Horst and Hannah. A private service has taken place.
