- Dietrich's Bakery was started in 1899 originally located at 13 Foundry St., West, Berlin, now renamed Ontario St. West., Kitchener, by 1901 the bakery's location had changed to 86 King St. E., Berlin. 1,000,000 loaves of bread were being baked by 1917 and for many years was at the corner of King and Scott Streets. In 1946 the business was sold to Weston's.

Death of Prominent Baker At Kitchener
The death occurred at Kitchener on Sunday morning of Henry A. Dietrich, after a short illness.
The deceased was born in St. Agatha, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Dietrich, and was 55 years of age. He built up an extensive bakery at Kitchener, the biggest in this part of Western Ontario. He was a prominent member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic church.
He leaves a widow and one son and four daughters. Two brothers and six sisters also survive.
