- HOLIAD, Peter
Of Waterloo, long-time resident of Cambridge, in his 83rd year, passed away, peacefully, at St. Mary's Hospital, on Saturday, March 29, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Ann Mary Kucik (1996). Dear father of John and his wife Kristie of Courtice and Christine Fohring and her husband Norm of Waterloo. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren; Brittany and Justin Holiad and Michael and Cassandra Fohring. Predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Veronika Holiad. Peter had five brothers and one sister, who have all predeceased him. Mr. Holiad, was born in The Ukraine and came to Canada from England in 1950. He was passionate to liberate, The Ukraine, once in Canada, but his family was his first love. As his grandchildren arrived, they became the love of his life. He was employed by Franklin Manufacturing, for 25 years, 18 of which he was a supervisor. He was a founding member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 582 Eagle Street, North, Cambridge. Panachyda will be said, Tuesday, at 7: 30 p.m. and at 9: 30 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
