At the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Thursday, Jan. 9, in his 89th year, William Maves of 3-1308 Queenston Rd. (Queen St.) Cambridge (Preston). Beloved husband of Olive McPherson; dear father of Wilfred of Port Colborne, Larry of Camp Borden, Elsie (Mrs. Douglas Rogers) of St. Thomas, Violet (Mrs. Kirk Atkinson) of Fenwick, Miss Barbara and Doreen (Mrs. Ken Donnelly), both of Cambridge; dear brother of Alma (Mrs. George Zadow) of Pembroke; also survived by four grandchildren. Mr. Mayes was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters. He was a welder, employed at the Canadian Buffalo Sled, retiring in March 1957; a member of the Preston Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, for funeral and committal services, Sunday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. Interment following, in Park Lawn cemetery.
