    • MOITOSO, Jose Silveira Passed away unexpectedly at Hilltop Manor, Cambridge, on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the age of 88. Dearly loved by his devoted wife Adelina who together shared 61 wonderful years. Jose is remembered by his three sisters and many family members and friends from Cambridge, ON, Rhode Island, California USA and the Azores, Portugal. He was predeceased by nine siblings. Jose came to Canada in 1957 to provide prosperity for his family. He first worked in the logging industry, helping Canada build and grow. He then worked on a mink farm and settled into his profession as a carpenter until his retirement. He was one of the founding members of the Portuguese Club of Cambridge and is listed as member #3. He helped organize the first Portuguese Church in Cambridge, Ontario. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where family and friends have been received Monday, September 2, 2019 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial has been celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, Elgin street South, in Cambridge, on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. The family is grateful for the wonderful care and support received by Hilltop Manor as well as LHIN Home Care Service and all the P.S.W's. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer's Society.
