- Henry Kropf
A veteran of the First and Second World Wars, Henry Kropf, 67, of 100 Dunbar St. South, Waterloo, died Monday at Westminster Hospital, London, Ont., after a lengthy illness. Born in Kitchener Jan. 5, 1893, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Kropf. He was a former employee of Carling Breweries Ltd. Mr. Kropf served overseas during the First World War and joined the Veterans Guards of Canada during the Second World War. He was a member of the Waterloo branch of the Canadian Legion. Survivors include his wife, the former Mynetta Gies, who he married in Kitchener Sept. 24, 1919; four daughters, Mrs. Donald (Jeanne) Shuh, Mrs. Elaine Struke, Mrs. Robert (Adele) Perrott and Mrs. Richard (Kathryn) Kirsht, all of Waterloo; two brothers, William of Sturgis, Mich., George of Kitchener; one sister, Mrs. Fred Kehn of Kitchener, and 10 grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. Rev. W. O. Rathke of Redeemer Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
