      Mrs. Merle (Mildred) Shantz, 48, of RR 4, Simcoe, wife of, Rev. Merle Shantz, minister of Old Windham, United Church, Simcoe, died Saturday at her home after a lengthy illness. Born, Nov. 8, 1913, in Kitchener, she was educated in Kitchener, attended McMaster University and Hamilton Teachers College and taught at Victoria and Sheppard Schools, Kitchener. She had lived in Hespeler, where her husband was minister of Wanner Mennonite Church, for 10 years. In 1959, they moved to Simcoe. Surviving besides her husband are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd George of Kitchener: two sons, Stephen of London, Ont. and John at home: three daughters, Margaret, Ruth and Edith at home and a brother, John of Sarnia. One brother, predeceased her. Services were held today, at 1 p.m., in Old Windham United Church, Simcoe, followed by further services at 4 p m., in Wanner Mennonite Church, Hespeler. Rev Howard Good of Preston officiated. Burial was in Wanner Church Cemetery.
