  HOMER BURKHART 1914 - 2009 Passed away peacefully, on Monday, February 23, 2009, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, at the age of 94. Devoted father of Nelson (Joan) of Guelph, Delton (Margaret) of Lucknow, James (Barbara) of New Hamburg, Laverne (Jane) of Kitchener and Edward of Breslau. He will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother, Wayne Burkhart; sisters, Martha (Aden) Weber and Ellen (Clare) Martin; sister-in-law, Eunice Burkhart and brother-in-law, Leonard Gingrich. Predeceased by his wife, Anna (nee Rudy); siblings, Viola (Andy) Bowman, Lauretta Burkhart, Ruby (Edmund) Martin, Roy Burkhart and Doris Gingrich and sister-in-law, Lydia Burkhart. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, February 27, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place, at Wanner Mennonite Church, 1725 Beaverdale Rd., Cambridge, on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Don Penner officiating. Reception will immediately follow the service in the Church Hall. Interment in Wanner Mennonite Cemetery, in the Spring. Waterloo Region Record 24 Feb 2009 pg B7
