      Peacefully at home, on Tuesday, September 7, 1999, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Winnifred (nee Kearly). Loved father of Jim (Nina), John (Gladys), Bill (Marjorie), Charles (Vennessia), Linda (Bill Kent), Norm (Patsy), Don (Virginia), Mary (David Small), Winnie (Steve Eaton), Elizabeth (Gary Dwyer), Wilson (Tracy), Donna (John Shaver), Jean (Pete), Roslyn (Carlos Pimental), Millie (John Wheaton), Madeline (Keith Brown) and Patsy (Dave McLean). Dearly loved grandfather of 50 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Sidney will be sadly missed by his brothers, Art Reid of Bell Island, Dougal Reid of Bell Island and Gord Reid of Cambridge and his sisters, Lucy Newman of Bell Island and Lillian Pitts of Labrador. He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Madeline Reid, his broher, William Reid and his sister, Sarah Penny. Sidney was born on Bell Island, Newfoundland and was a miner for over 20 years. He was best known for his entertainment as an accordion (squeeze box) musician. In the 1950's he was a member of a band called the Bell Islanders, who played on the radio across Newfoundland. Sidney came to Cambridge, in 1965 and was self-employed. He was an Honorary Life Member of the Cambridge Newfoundland Club, and Honorary Member of the R.C.L. Branch #121 (Galt). Friends will be received at Little's Funeral Home, 223 Main Street East, Cambridge, on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at Trinity Anglican Church, 12 Blair Road, Cambridge, on Friday, September 10, 1999, at 1: 30 p.m., with Rev. Bob Grisdale officiating. Interment to follow in Trinity Anglican Cemetery.
