    • JOHN HENRY DICKMAN

One of the oldest residents of this city passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Steinmetz Sunday afternoon in the person of Mr. John Henry Dickman. The deceased was born in Germany in September, 93 years ago. In 1854 he immigrated to Canada and took up his residence at Dundas and in the same year married Miss Christine Addler who predeceased him eleven years. In 1860 he came to Kitchener where he has since resided and where for many years he was employed as a cabinet maker. Me was a continuous member of Zion Evangelical church since coming to Kitchener and for some time has been the oldest member. He is survived by five children Hannah (Mrs. George Steinmetz) of this city; Isaac of Toronto; Fanny (Mrs.Christ Steinmetz) of Winnipeg; Henry W., of Waterloo; Emma (Mrs. Albert Halstead) of Brantford. Twenty-six grand children and twenty-five great grandchildren also survive. About three years ago Mr. Dickman was the victim of an accident and has been confined to his room since that time. Recently he suffered from paralysis which was the cause of death. The funeral was held from the home of his daughter, 54 1-2 Queen street south on Tuesday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. Services were held at Zion Evangelical church and interment was held in Mount Hope cemetery.
