    • HOGAN, Joseph (Joe)

      Passed away peacefully, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Sunday, September 9, 2012, in his 77th year, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Elinor (Nee Adamson) for 56 years. Father of Michael Hogan (Julie), Cathy Hogan Munroe, Brenda Reis (Paul), predeceased by sons Joey Hogan (August 15, 2011) and infant son Steven Douglas (December 29, 1962). Also survived by loving grandchildren and missing their papa: Melanie Sousa (Paul), Jenny DaSilva (Eric) and their children Braiden and Jerica and their mother Ann Hogan, Matthew Reis (Justine), Jason Reis, Cynthia Reis, Andrew Reis (Nicole), Scott Hogan Munroe, and Ryan Hogan Munroe. Brother Jim Hogan of Arizona, and sister, Rosemarie Bevan of Cambridge. Brother-in-law to Ruth and Chuck Clare and many nieces and nephews. Joe was well known in Cambridge, for his active role in hockey. Joe was Captain of the Cambridge Hornets, for six years, helping them to win two Allen Cups (1961 and 1969). This spring he was inducted into the Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame, this recognition was an honour and highlight of his life. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 804 and took pride in his electrical career. He was also an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 121. The family would like to thank the many nurses and Dr. Gowing of Medical Daycare at CMH, for the excellent care that Joe received; also the nurses of Paramed especially, Pat and Joanne for their loving care. We also wish to thank Kris from the Canadian Red Cross. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family received friends on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers were recited on Wednesday evening at 8: 30 p.m., at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial, will be celebrated at St. Ambrose R.C. Church on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. A Legion service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion (Galt Branch) 121, was held at the funeral home on Wednesday, at 7 p.m.
