      PRESTON, April 27. Well-known and highly respected resident of Preston, for 34 years, Edith Ellen Rose, wife of William Sanderson, prominent Preston business man, died at her home, 1558 King St., at 7.30, last night. Her death culminated a prolonged illness. Word of her death was received with a deep measure of regret. Born in Somerset, England, Mrs. Sanderson, came to Canada 42, years ago, residing in Woodstock, until making her home in Preston. An active member of St. John's Anglican Church, she was past president of the Ladies' Guild, a member of the Women's Auxiliary and former supervisor of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Preston Springs chapter, Order of Eastern Star and Preston chapter, Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire. Through her active diversified associations, Mrs. Sanderson had formed a large circle of friends. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Jack and Pat, both of Preston; two grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters in England. The body is resting at the residence. The funeral will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, Friday, at 10: 30 a.m. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Galt.
