      Peacefully, at K-W Hospital, on Tuesday, Nov 5, 1991, age 73 years, of 140 Lincoln Rd., Waterloo and formerly of Port Elgin. Mr. Banks was born in Cambridge (Galt) and was a son of the late Gertrude and Rev. Canon Alfred P. Banks He was retired from Ontario Hydro, where he had worked for 31 years, was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, in Kitchener, was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the 48th Highlanders of Canada, from 1939-1945, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 340, in Port Elgin and the 10th Battery, in St. Catharines. Beloved husband of Irene Banks; dearly loved father of Carol and her husband Bob Richmond of Grimsby, Virginia and her husband David Atkinson of Waterdown, Susan Banks of Waterloo, Geoffrey of Saint John, New Brunswick, David and his wife Linda of Port Elgin and Janet and her husband Glenn Lewis of Holland Landing. He is also lovingly remembered by 10 grandchildren, Bruce and his wife Darlene, Michael, Gary and his wife Tina, Shari, Julie, Cathy, Daryl, Sasha, Amanda and Lindsay; four great-grandchildren, Devin, Drew, Jessica and Jaimi; his brother, F. A. O. (Sandy) and his wife Hilda Banks of Kitchener and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Molly Banks of Kitchener. He was predeceased by two brothers, George and E. A. H. (Hasty) Banks. Mr. Bank’s family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 7-9 p.m., on Wednesday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., on Thursday. The funeral service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 23 Water St. N., Kitchener, on Friday, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Canon C. E. Ladds officiating. Cremation to follow.
