  • Notes
    • Fred. C. Bond, Chemist and Druggist, has lately removed to Dando's New Block on Ainslie Street; Sign, Red Mortar - Holding a prominent place among the business establishments of Galt is that of the above. The business was originally established by Mr. John Bond, father to the present proprietor, and it would seem as though this line of business was an inherited taste, for a brother is similarly employed in Tottingham. Mr. John Bond came to Galt from Goderich three years ago, having been previously engaged as a chemist and druggist in that place. Mr. Bond keeps an excellent stock of pure, fresh drugs and chemicals, as well as toilet articles, such as imported perfumes and soaps, fancy goods, etc. A specialty is made of compounding physicians' prescriptions, all modern appliances being in use to prevent the possibility of mistakes. Mr. Bond has followed and studied the business for a number of years, and is a graduate of the Ontario College of Pharmacy. The business, which is steadily increasing, extends throughout the town and surrounding sections of the country. The new premises occupied, which are handsomely and appropriately fitted up, are 20x60 feet in dimensions. Mr. Bond is a native of Toronto, an enterprising and progressive business man, and much esteemed in the community where he has decided to follow his business career.

Industries of Canada, historical and commercial sketches, Hamilton and environs: its prominent places and people: representative merchants and manufacturers: its improvements, progress and enterprise (1886)
